REVERSE OSMOSIS DRINKING WATER SYSTEMS:

With the public becoming more and more health conscious, concern over the purity of drinking water is at an all time high. For this reason, we've dedicated this entire page to Reverse Osmosis.

One of the most cost efficient and effective home drinking water treatment systems available today uses a process called reverse osmosis.

At the heart of any Reverse osmosis system is the semi-permeable membrane. Reverse Osmosis works by applying pressurized water against one side of this semi-permeable membrane. The membrane allows only clean, clear water to pass through, but stops contaminants from passing. Both health-related contaminants (such as lead and asbestos) as well as many aesthetic contaminants (that can effect the taste, color and odor of water) are reduced or eliminated by using a reverse osmosis system.

These are compact units which are installed either under the sink or in the basement. They are designed to produce high quality ultra pure drinking water. Not only is RO water perfect for use in drinking & cooking, but is equally well suited for making ice cubes, filling steam irons & car batteries and even humidifiers. It's important to note that the Reverse osmosis process is intended to make good water better and is not designed to soften the water or remove iron.

Several factors can effect the performance of a reverse osmosis system, including the incoming water quality, water temperature, and water pressure. Fully 99% of our reverse osmosis units are sold with a booster pump. This is a low voltage, very quiet, pump that boosts the water supply pressure to 80lbs. This boosted pressure allows the reverse osmosis system to overcome the cold water and low pressure problems.

Only a technician certified in reverse osmosis systems has the necessary training knowledge ability and experience needed to correctly apply, install and service your RO system and assist you with any problems. From our experience, purchasing a owner installed, department store or Internet drinking water system is not a wise decision. If the unit fails to provide quality drinking water, or does not function properly, the telephone technician (if there is one available at all) can only attempt to give you assistance. When it comes to Reverse Osmosis, we at Alliance Water Conditioning and Plumbing Inc. don't offer RO systems over the counter or through Internet sales. Instead we encourage the homeowner to contact us for purchase and installation of a reverse osmosis system.
